Position: Outdoor Adventure Facilitator - TraineesOutdoor Expkorer, a leader in tourism in
Thailand for the past 20 years, is seeking 4 x Trainee Outdoor Adventure Programme Facilitators to work at its
Greenwood Garden Lodge Outdoor Education Centre & Research Centre in Ban Kung Mai Sak, Muang, Mae Hong Son,
Thailand. This is an amazing opportunity to develop new skills, work in the outdoors and to gain more experience in this field than any other position can provide.
Description:Trainees will participate in a 4 month training course (including salary, accommodation and meals) where they will learn the skills necessary to secure them a 2 year contract as an Outdoor Activities Facilitator. During training, you will be taught the following:
• Outdoor adventure skills such as team building, adventure ropes and outdoor games
• First aid basics
• Knowledge of the environment (biodiversity, and ethno botany, bird watching) and more.
• Research skills
• Guide skills
• Hospitality skills
• English language skills (dedicated lessons)by qualified foreign teachers.
We are seeking enthusiastic and outgoing individuals who have medium to strong English-language skills, moderate to high levels of fitness and who love being in the outdoors. Additional, applicants should be proactive, hard working, confident at solving problems and willing to work as a team player. All applicants must also be willing to spend time away from Chiang Mai. Possession of a bachelors degree and/or a guide license will assist in your application, but is not compulsory. After training, and as a full time Outdoor Adventure Programme Facilitator, you will enjoy a position where youwill work in a team of like-minded individuals with the following responsibilities:
1. Handling groups who wish to walk the Pang Soong (interpretive) Nature Trails – providing them with information and professional service
2. Assisting with corporate groups visiting the Pang Soong Lodge for team building, ropes courses and outdoor games
3. Assisting with international schools visiting the Pang Soong Lodge for outdoor education, team building, rope courses, confidence building and more
4. Assisting in the management of Eco-English Camps for local Thai students
5. Assisting in designing and improving outdoor adventure equipment and challenges at the Pang Soong Lodge.
6. Assisting in abseiling programmes, advanced ropes programmes and more
Salary and package:Trainee pay (first 4 months) - THB 6,000/month, plus free accommodation and meals whilst on duty at the
Greenwood Garden Lodge whilst on duty.
Full time contract (2 years) – THB 7,000/month-THB 9,000/month plus bonus system (extra THB 5,000-10,000/month) accommodation and meals whilst on duty at the
Greenwood Garden Lodge.
